International rugby comes to these shores next week when Cayman hosts the 2011 North American & Caribbean Regional Championships for the men’s Under-19s and women’s XV sides.
The Cayman team is in training camp in Toronto until 5 July with technical director Richard ‘Grizz’ Adams preparing for the tournament.
Matches run from 9-16 July at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex. The opening ceremonies are on 9 July from 3.15pm and the closing ceremonies on 16 July at 7.30pm. Weeklong entry pass for all matches is only $5 and under 16s are free all week.
The U-19 teams are Mexico, Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago, Bermuda, Cayman Islands and the women’s teams are Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Cayman Islands and Caribbean select. Refreshments are available for all games provided by Boss Hogg’s.
It is all organised by the Cayman Rugby Football Union partnered by Maples, Heineken, Z99, Hews, IToutsource Ltd, Logic, the Caymanian Compass and the national women’s sponsor is Global Captive Management Ltd.
