Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce CEO Wil Pineau is the only CEO in the region who participated in the Caribbean Academy for the Management of Employers’ Organisations workshop. He completed the programme at the Cave Hill School of Business at the University of the West Indies in Barbados. The programme ran from 27 June to 1 July.
The five-day workshop was organised by the International Labour Organisation and Office of the Caribbean in Trinidad and Tobago, among others.
Representatives from 21 regional employers organisations participated in the workshop which addressed strategic thinking, planning and management, leadership and public relations and marketing.
“The workshop allowed me to meet and work with senior leaders from regional and international chambers and employers organisations and to learn the latest trends in business and financial management, strategic planning, membership development and marketing and communications. It is my intention to use the information that I learned to continue to improve our chamber, so that we are recognized as one of the best in the region,” Mr. Pineau said.
The Chamber Council and staff will be participating in a strategic planning workshop facilitated by Rod Waddell on 16 July to develop a three year strategic plan for the organisation.
