North Sound water outlet suggested

Well, now perhaps that the Dart Group has acquired the Cayman Islands Yacht Club and its adjacent properties leading to the west coast (Seven Mile Beach), they may want to consider – in conjunction with Government – during the West Bay Road changes, to construct a drawbridge with toll for automobiles/boats over a waterway out of the North Sound Basin that would allow the westward free flow of movement of excess ocean water being dumped into it during the passing of hurricanes such as Ivan, which caused hundreds of millions of dollars in inland and canal high water damage.

With the minimal environmental impacts, as my opinion, preventing four to six feet of saltwater flooding will not be the only benefits opening up the North Sound to the west would create, but I see a wide array of marine, boating and employment opportunities that can derive from this ‘food for thought’ project.
