Roy Wilhelm has been to Cayman on three occasions. The Dutch football guru states he loves it here.
“I love it and I’m addicted to being here,” Wilhelm said. “I’ve seen so many islands and the roads here are better and safer. I drove round to West Bay and it’s really nice there. The people are friendly and I feel as comfortable here as I do at home.”
Wilhelm, 58, was here this week leading the annual Dutch football summer camp. Taking place at Truman Bodden Sports Complex, the sessions attracted some 80 kids between the ages of six and 18. The Cayman Islands Football Association organized Wilhelm’s visit for the third consecutive year.
For the record Wilhelm is a youth coach for PSV Eindhoven in Holland. He has helped develop a number of star players throughout his career including Brazil’s Ronaldo and Dutch star Ruud van Nistelrooy.
