A local football club is putting on a one-day camp for kids.
FC International will host a one-day camp this Saturday, 17 September, from 9am to 1pm. The Haig Bodden field is slated to be the venue for youngsters aged 6-16.
The totally free camp was supposed to run this summer but was postponed. As usual the camp will be overseen by FC International camp director Elbert McLean and focus on teaching football basics. McLean and his staff have staged camps across the Cayman Islands this summer featuring guest speakers like Lenny Hew.
FC International president Kennedy Ebanks states Saturday should be a good session for local youth.
“Due to unforseen circumstances we had to put off the Bodden Town camp initially,” Ebanks said. “But we are ready to go now and we’re hoping for a major show of community support. At the end of the day we’re a community-minded organization that wants to help our youth become good citizens.”
