It’s time to mark your calendars for the Parade of Lights.
Cayman 27’s annual holiday event featuring a Christmas concert and boat parade is set for 10 December at Camana Bay.
It’s not too early to register and start planning your design for either of two categories: Private and Water Sport (personal watercrafts do not qualify for stand-alone parade entry).
Judges will be looking at “wow factor”, creativity, use of colour, and overall impression, organisers said. The winning boat in each category sails away with a $2,000 prize.
Last year, Santa’s sleigh was guided by a reindeer on Lonnie Jackson’s 21-foot angler, Jackson 5, which won in the private boat category. Sunset Divers’ 38-foot V-hull Michael Fitz custom dive boat, Sunset Diver 2, took the top spot in the water sport category.
Space is limited, so boaters are encouraged to register early.
