Breast cancer gala dinner sold out

The annual Breast Cancer Gala Dinner is sold out again this year, but for those who did not get a ticket and want to join the fun and support the cause, the organisers are throwing an after party.

Janet Jarchow of the Breast Cancer Foundation said the after party would begin at 9pm at the Silver Palm Lounge at The Ritz Carlton, Grand Cayman on Saturday, 15 October. “If you couldn’t get a ticket to the gala dinner, which sold out a week or so ago, then join the after party,” she said.

All proceeds of the gala dinner and its impressively large auction, which this year features more than 50 items, will be donated in the form of grants for patients’ assistance and other breast cancer-related projects by The Cayman Islands Cancer Society and The Lions Club of Tropical Gardens.

The auction items include jewellery, boat charters, resort stays, watersports vouchers, makeover packages, private shopping experiences, artwork, spa visits and restaurant certificates. Funds from previous gala dinners have been used for a new cancer registry, financial aid for breast cancer patients, early detection and awareness initiatives.
