The auction lots of have snapped up, the donation pledges have been met and the final tally from this year’s Breast Cancer Gala is in.
The glitzy event on 15 October at the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman raised $110,000 through a raffle – which by itself raised more than $12,000 – donations, ticket sales and a live and silent auction.
This year’s total matches the amount raised last year.
“We were thrilled to see the final tally of funds raised at this year’s event and cannot thank the community enough for coming through, once again, during a very tough year,” said Kim Lund, co-founder of the Breast Cancer Foundation. “Our goal is to make every year’s event, bigger and better than the year before, so we can always be there when financial assistance is needed.”
The money will support grants for local organisations and people with breast cancer, as well the Breast Cancer Registry.
