Sometimes you have to see it to believe it. That certainly holds true for some of the Christmas light displays the public is treated to each year in Cayman. Shopping plazas, roundabouts and private gardens and gardens across the island begin to light up the night from early December, with the displays becoming more colourful and elaborate every year.
The sight of some of these quite mind-boggling concentrations of colours, lights and shapes certainly turn heads, and often leave motorists rather slack jawed as they drive by.
In order to enjoy them to their fullest, without having to worry about staying on the road as you take in the most impressive of the displays, the National Trust is running bus tours which will take groups around some of the main sights to see this Christmas. Tours will run 19-22 December.
Buses will depart from the National Trust offices At Dart Park on South Church Street at 6pm and take in some of the houses and roundabouts with Christmas lights along South Church Street, South Sound, Shamrock Road and the Mission House in Bodden Town, returning at 9pm. The tours promise to be a fun family event, with Christmas carols being sung and samples of Christmas fare proivded. The tours are small, so reservations ar required.
