Two injured in Linford Pierson wreck

Two men were hurt in a one-car crash that closed a section of the Linford Pierson Highway early Wednesday.  

According to police, two men who in a Honda Civic that left the road around 2.20am were hospitalised. The driver, 26, was listed in serious condition at press time and the 24-year-old passenger was listed in stable condition.  

Police said the white Civic ran off the road and collided with a tree near the riding stables.  

The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service closed a section of a busy George Town thoroughfare to investigate the accident. The Linford Pierson was closed between Lyndhurst Road and Agnes Way for several hours.  

Police officers were scouring the road just east of where the crash occurred shortly after dawn.  

There was no immediate word on what led to the wreck.
