The Caribbean’s most exciting dive site just got even better with news that a series of treasure hunts are gonna take place chez Kittiwake.

Nancy Easterbrook tells us more about it, cause she’s cool like that.

“As you know it’s Culinary Month so in addition to all those great activities there is a watersports element – one thing is a lionfish hunt and tasting [on Thursday, 19 and 26 February and Thursday, 9 February at Divetech, Cobalt Coast.]

“The other, to celebrate the anniversary of the Kittiwake sinking is a Treasure Hunt every week on Tuesday afternoons. Anybody can sign up and participate.”

Call your operator

Simply call your local dive operator and let them know you are interested in the event, which begins around 2pm. There will be hidden coins around the ship, explains Nancy.

“We have hundreds of prizes donated by lots of people on and off island. Divers will be allowed to get a set number of coins then we will come back, head to Margaritaville at 6pm for the prize giving ceremony.” Seven Fathoms Wrecker cocktail – the official cocktail of the Kittiwake – plus snacks should ensue.

“There are all sorts of prizes from gift certificates and merchandise, big and small, a variety. It’s open to everyone and a celebration for residents to be able to join in the fun of the anniversary celebrations,” says Nancy.

Sounds great to us – a chance to celebrate the brilliant dive plus win a brilliant prize. Everyone’s a winner, baby.
