Dive resort Sunset House has been picked as one of 11 water vacations by Bing.com Travel, which has over 9 million visitors per month.
Also featured is Grand Cayman as a destination as well as the PADI Total Submersion Trip, which takes place from 9 to 16 June, 2012.
“Every year when we host the PADI Diving Society event Total Submersion, PADI picks two important people to bring down with them,” explained Keith Sahm of Sunset House.
“One of the travel writers for Bing.com will be [at this year’s event.] So, this is not the end of the story, but much more to be written up in the future post event.”
Press coverage
Total Submersion was instigated by Mr. Sahm and the late Payul Tzimoulis of Sport Diver magazine in the late 1990s. Over the years, representatives of that magazine, Clear Channel, Away.com, American Photographer, Outdoor Photographer, Rangefinder and more have visited the Cayman Islands and subsequently given the destination much press coverage.
The eight-day event includes a series of dives, special guests, speciality clinics, seminars, contests and prizes and the underwater poker run, which is a popular fun diving event. Groups from around the world visit to take part in Total Submersion.
There are four days of two-tank boat diving and unlimited shore diving as well as live bands and a trip to Rum Point for dinner. It’s open to all including beginners as long as they have completed their PADI open water certification prior to the trip.
