$25,000 reward in shooting at cop’s home

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered by Cayman Crime Stoppers and the local government for information about the recent shooting at a police officer’s home. 
 
Shots were fired early Sunday, 22 January at the officer’s home on Velma Banks Drive. 
 
No one was hurt, but bullets did strike the house. The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service has since put protection in place for the officer and his family. 
 
The RCIPS has not said what circumstances led to the shooting. 
 
The reward money in this case – put up by the Cayman Islands government – is for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any suspects in this shooting. Crime Stoppers rewards are usually up to $1,000.
