The local cricket season is in full flow with the Cayman national side away at an International Cricket Council tournament in Singapore. The women are getting ready too to host an international tournament in April at the Jimmy Powell Oval in West Bay. Visiting teams will be Argentina, Bermuda, Brazil, Canada and USA in a Twenty20 format.
Women’s cricket is rising in popularity, especially in the Caribbean where the West Indies women’s side is one of the best in the world with some of the top players, like Stefanie Taylor.
Meanwhile, with the national side away, division one club matches are on hold but on Saturday the first division two game is on, between Aims Consultants and Chillies. It is at the Smith Road Oval from 1pm.
