Cuban migrants held on Cayman Brac

A Cuban vessel arrived in Cayman Brac late Wednesday with 26 men and one woman on board.

While in the territorial waters of the Cayman Islands, the craft developed problems with its rudder, and was said to be running low on fuel, immigration officials said.

Immigration officers from Grand Cayman are in Cayman Brac, assisting with processing and other formalities. All 27 Cuban migrants will remain in government housing on Cayman Brac until they can be escorted to Grand Cayman.
