A police SUV crashed into some fencing and continued into an unoccupied building Thursday night, according to the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service.
No cause for the crash was given in a police report on the incident.
According to police, the Suzuki SUV collided with the fencing at the intersection of Elgin Avenue and Louise-Llewelyn Way in downtown George Town around 7.30pm.
After hitting the fence, the police car continued into an unoccupied structure located at #14 Louise-Llewellyn Way where it came to a stop.
The female officer, who suffered injuries in the crash, remained in hospital early Friday in stable condition. The police SUV was damaged in the wreck.
