Nice Notice I wish I had known sooner. Like when the meeting was deciced months ago, not at the last moment. I think I will send a letter to my congressman. If i wasnt going to miami that day I wouldn’t complain but I cant afford to change my tickets. furthermore you know I am here you could of sent an email..
HELLO – US Citizens in Cayman, this is clearly a scam in order for the US Government to get a list of US Citizens living in cayman, with your passport numbers. The first thing they will do is check whether you are paying your taxes, and you better hope you have….
And BTW – here is a list of the services the US Government offer in the Cayman Islands:
1.
End of list.
Yeah Right, Services offer by the US Government. They must be referring to the Internal Revenue Service. That’s the only one I’m aware of. And since when do you need to show your passport to get into a public meeting. I’m sure they will have plenty to say to the attendees, especially since there will be no press to censor them. I wonder how much the hosts will be getting paid to provide the US with the list of names they’ll be putting together.
Like… why make the meeting so covert? Why is the townhall meeting shut-off to the public and media? There must be something that they do not want the inquiry of journalists to know. I wonder what that is? Why do you have to register and provide your personal information at such a short notice in order to attend the meeting?
There are so many questions unanswered, I dont think it is wise for a U.S. overseas citizen to attend. Why say it is a townhall meeting to inform when you have to go through such a red tape process?
Anyone attending can expect a call from the IRS and most likely an Audit..
