It was postponed due to torrential rains last month, but it’s time for some fun in the sun at Kaibo this weekend – with all the proceeds going to help feed Cayman’s neediest families.
It doesn’t get much better than this – a day full of fun and games for all the family, and at the same time it’s raising money for a great cause. Local charity Acts of Random Kindness is putting the FUN into “fundraising” with its Fun 2 Feed Cayman Paddleboard Competition this Sunday, 24 June, in the afternoon.
Tickets are $5 for children, $10 for adults and $15 for the family and this includes boat transportation between Camana Bay and Kaibo. Boats leave Camana Bay at 12.45pm and return from Kaibo at 5pm.
There is going to be all manner of fun and games on the beach and in the water, so if you have your own kayak, paddleboard or other water toy, take it along. If not, use of the toys is also included in the ticket price.
Waterman will be hosting a paddleboard competition and you’ll also have access to the inflatable WOW balls, sea bobs and an inflatable water wonderland. On terra firma, traditional kite maker Chris Christian will be leading a giant kite making workshop as well as providing instruction on kite flying. There will also be a bouncy castle, a teddy bear tombola, an old fashioned candy store and raffles.
If sitting in the shade with a cold cocktail is closer to your idea of a fun afternoon at the beach, no problem – you can still contribute: just make sure you order a D-A.R.K. and Stormy and $1 for every beverage purchased will go to Cayman’s ARK.
Proceeds from ticket sales and D-ARK and stormy sales will all go toward the charity’s Feed Cayman Campaign.
The fun starts at 2pm and winds down at 5pm. Tickets are available at The Cabana, Waterman, Picture This and Hurley’s. For additional information contact ARK at [email protected]
