Annual Breast Cancer Gala appeals for sponsors

The fifth annual fund raising Breast Cancer Gala will be held at the Ritz-Carlton in September and organisers are continuing to look for sponsors for the event.

The Breast Cancer Foundation will again host the gala dinner on Saturday, 29 September. This year’s guest speakers are TV personalities Giuliana and Bill Rancic.

As a breast cancer survivor, whose struggle against the disease played out on television, Giuliana Rancic has first hand experience of the impact of breast cancer.

All the funds from the gala and other Breast Cancer Foundation events go towards helping the local community and breast cancer survivors.

“There are still many critical needs for financial support and we are appealing to our business community to support this worthy cause, with a corporate or individual sponsorship,” said the Foundation’s Heather McLaughlin.

“While we are able to raise funds, used to support our survivors at the gala, it is the corporate and individual sponsorships that provide a large part of this support. We are eternally grateful for the support of our current sponsors… however, there is so much more that still needs to be done,” she added.

Ms McLaughlin said the Breast Cancer Foundation’s goal this year is to surpass all of its previous fund raising events.

Anyone interested in sponsoring the gala should visit the Breast Cancer Foundation website on www.breastcancerfoundation.ky. “By doing this now, we are able to promote your support in our community marketing, leading up to the gala,” Ms McLaughlin said.

“Within our community, funds raised through Breast Cancer Foundation activities, such as the gala, are used for a wide range of needs. These can range from aid to local breast cancer patients, funding for the Cayman Cancer Register, Cayman Islands Cancer Society programmes, breast cancer educational assistance, sponsoring mammograms, and many other various breast cancer related needs,” she said.

Ms McLaughlin added: “Our goal is to be able to provide an increasing amount of financial assistance to support breast cancer survivors, while helping to fund the programmes and facilities needed to promote awareness and early detection. We can eventually beat this disease, but only through your kind support and sponsorship.”
