CAL Twin Otters out of service

Two DeHavilland Twin Otter aircraft operated by Cayman Airways Express will be out of service due to unscheduled maintenance requirements for approximately one week until 6 September.

A statement from Cayman Airways late Thursday indicated the “unanticipated situation” will necessitate temporary changes to its scheduled service between Grand Cayman and the Sister Islands of Cayman Brac and Little Cayman.

The airline didn’t say what the maintenance was for.

Cayman Airways is finalizing a modified flight schedule using a combination of its B737-300’s and leased equipment from other Civil Aviation Authority-approved operators.  The modified flight schedule will be made public as soon as it is confirmed, CAL officials said.

Cayman Airways Express passengers booked on Twin Otter flights are being notified of schedule changes.
