Safes still secure

The Security Centre Safes are holding steady on the diamond.

The squad enters play this week in the thick of division three of the Cayman Islands Little League Fall Adult Co-Ed Softball League. Their next game is Monday, 10 September, at 8pm against the PWC Scorpions on field three at the Field of Dreams.

A veteran cast, featuring Joey Hew and Stuart Bostock, has kept the Safes trodding along with a winning record. They’re keeping pace with Rob Harris’ PWC B, last season’s finalist the Deloitte Tigers and Tony Mark’s new-look team Subway.

PWC meanwhile remain a steady force in division four, alongside the likes of G-Force and recent entrant Dart. The Scorpions have a vastly revamped roster featuring the likes of Matt Tyler, Gustavo Mota and Benoit Ouellette.

Another inter-league contest is slated for Tuesday, 11 September, at 8pm on field three. PWC B tangle with Watercolours of division two. Tuesday also sees a division one clash as Baron Solomon and the Home Gas crew look to pad their lead atop the standings against Island Taste Hot Stuff.

While division three has been competitive, arguably the tightest group thus far has been division two. The Coors Light Chuggers, behind Alan Markoff, are the leaders but clubs like Watercolours, Maples Sluggers, Master Batters and the Club House Crabbies are in hot pursuit.
