Ritz league gives all smashing time

Keen tennis players get another chance to compete in a popular league again.  

Corporate Team Tennis League’ at The Courts Tennis Centre starts on Tuesday. After a successful and fun inaugural spring season, The Courts Tennis Centre at The Ritz-Carlton is hosting the fall season.  

The league has expanded to 12 teams from the previous eight and is played every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening. The first match-up starts at 8.15pm and match-up No.2 starts at 9.30pm. The 12 teams are split up into two groups. 

The Red Group comprises of PWC, Deloitte, KPMG, Ernst & Young, Ogier and Maples & Calder. The Blue Group has in it UBS, HSBC, EFG Bank, Harmonic, The Ritz-Carlton and Tennis Superstars. The regular season goes on until 18 October, with every team playing once a week. All teams will qualify for the playoffs, which will start on 13 November. The Corporate Team Tennis League Directors are Thomas Neuert and Justin Hadley. 

Neuert is the Ritz-Carlton’s head coach. He said: “This time we’ve introduced a serve competition throughout the season, where each player can measure their service speed and prizes will be given out at the end of the season.

“We also invite the public to come out and support your team or company. The admission is free and we will have specials on beverages. So come on out and join the festivities every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening at The Courts.” 

Spring season Corporate Team Tennis champions were Team Starfish Sports and runners-up were Team Fox Tennis and the third place finishers were Team PWC.
