Shots fired in West Bay

The Royal Cayman Islands Police service was investigating an incident where a firearm was discharged in West Bay on Wednesday, 10 October 2012.

At approximately 3pm today a report was received by 911 of gunshots being heard in the Watercourse Road area.

Police attended a short time later where they discovered spent shells on the road.

A search of the surrounding areas by Uniform/USG and Air Support was carried out. A 34 and 28 year old male were detained at a private residence shortly after.

Both males were subsequently arrested on Suspicion of Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm.

No persons were injured as a result of the incident.
