So what’s in store? Read on and see…
Destra Garcia, born in Trinidad, has grown from strength to strength since her 1999 debut and the entertainer is showing no signs of slowing down. Challenging herself, every year, she is taking her music and her fans along for the exciting journey.
Her music has already proved its staying power and its ability to captivate multiple markets. Destra has won fans the world over and has set the mark for high energy, live sets.
“I strongly believe that as I grow in this industry, I am learning more and more everyday,” Destra Garcia says. ”I am learning about myself, resistance, persistence and spirituality, all of which I rely heavily on in my career.”
She has released seven albums and won 15 soca awards, five COTT awards and the Best Female Soca Performer in Trinidad.
Orlando Octave is a Trinidad and Tobago artist whose roots are embedded in the rural Rio Claro area of the larger of the twin islands, Trinidad. Octave has been involved in music and entertainment for the past 19 years. He was born on 6 August, 1988.
The singer, who is credited with numerous youth awards in music, has continued to hold his own in the field, and in early 2012 he challenged himself, agreeing to be assisted by international businessman Richard Hope of Millionaire Records Inc., in a bid to take his music further.
Orlando Octave has stood his ground in Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean’s music industry for quite some time. As a young entertainer in a business that proves harsh at times, he says he has suffered bruises, gotten up and is on his way to what he believes will be a true success story.
In May, 2012 Octave’s line of “Play Wit It” condoms hit stores. Internationally produced singles and collaborations is carded to hit United States, Canadian, European and Caribbean markets. Orlando Octave is living his dream and with every hurdle crossed, the young artist holds God close to his heart and gives thanks for his blessings.
Gamal Doyle is the unmistakably energetic soca artist from St. Vincent & the Grenadines, better known as Skinny Fabulous. This talented and versatile artist demonstrates his quick wit and the capacity to mesmerise the crowd while he is on stage. Always willing to push the boundaries of Caribbean music, Skinny Fabulous has a style that falls somewhere between soca and dancehall.
As a singer/songwriter, Skinny Fabulous approaches every project intuitively and takes on the challenge to deliver potent lyrics over danceable tracks. He started out as a chanter, but made the transition to the soca scene almost a decade ago. Always a crowd favourite, there is no mistaking him when you hear the booming baritone voice echoing in DJ-style through the sound system with songs like “Misbehavin”.
‘Dress to fete.’ Which we assume is a good thing.
