ICCI, Triple C in toy drive

Students at International College of the Cayman Islands and Triple C School have teamed up on an ambitious toy drive to deliver Christmas gifts to some 200 kids at Windsor Park on 15 December.

International College graduate Kadian Smith-Taylor said in tough economic times, there are a number of parents and grandparents, who are not able to provide presents to their kids so this toy drive brings out the spirit of generosity within a community.

Triple C Student Council members have been playing a big part in getting students and teachers at their school involved in the toy drive.

“We want to show people that we are involved in the community and we want to make sure kids have a special Christmas this year,” said Triple C student Corriel Orrett.

The toys will be distributed at a Christmas party for kids at Windsor Park playground on Saturday, 15 December, from 10am to 2pm. Santa Claus is scheduled to drop by for a special visit to tell Christmas stories and distribute presents. There will also be games and refreshments for kids living at Windsor Park and their families to enjoy.

Organisers for the Christmas party are also asking for 30 to 60 volunteers to help with games, face painting and serving refreshments and handing out toys.

People who are interested in participating in the toy drive can leave presents at drop boxes at the International College, Triple C, Books & Books, The Ritz-Carlton and the Marriott Hotel.
