Cayman Prep’s Under-11 team rounded off a perfect season by defeating Red Bay Primary 3-1 in a top of the table Group B clash.
The game on Saturday was at the TE McField Annex Field.
Both schools boasted a perfect record with five wins out of five with Cayman Prep having a superior goal difference.
With qualification assured for both schools in the U-11 Champions Cup Playoffs in January, staying unbeaten was most important.
Cayman Prep had scored an impressive 44 goals so it wasn’t surprising when they took the lead in the 16th minute after Aaron Jarvis got on the end of David Pitcairn’s cross.
The impressive Pitcairn added a second in the 35th minute before Red Bay’s Jossiah McLaughlin scored an unfortunate own goal in the 42nd minute to make it 3-0.
Red Bay’s Mesyass Llewellyn gave his team a glimmer of hope in the 43rd minute after tapping in a loose ball but it was too late.
In the U-9 fixture, Cayman Prep and Red Bay played out an exciting 1-1 draw with Red Bay’s Noel Squire scoring in the 9th minute and Jack Norman equalising for in the 41st minute.
Other results from Group B were NorthEast Schools 3 v Prospect Primary 2 (U-9); NorthEast Schools 6 v Prospect Primary 1 (U-11) and Triple C 2 v South Sound Schools 4 (U-9).
In Group A it was Sir John A. Cumber Primary 1 v St. Ignatius Prep 2 (U-9); Sir John A. Cumber Primary 0 v St. Ignatius Prep 0 (U-11); George Town Primary 2 v Truth For Youth 2 (U-9); George Town Primary 4 v Truth For Youth 1 (U-11) and Grace Academy 2 v Cayman International School (U-11).
