The biggest party night of the year is just around the corner. Those revellers who enthusiastically embrace New Year’s Eve celebrations have been talking about and planning for it for months, while those who claim not to be fans, may well leave it to the last minute to decide where to go and what to do. Whichever camp you fall in, Weekender has compiled a list of the best places to see out 2012 and welcome in 2013.
Lucky 13 by the Marriott and Z99
The Marriott’s legendary beach party returns, bigger and better than ever. This year, the Marriott has teamed up with Z99 so there will be music from DJ XS and DJ Lin to keep the party going all night long.
Go all out and treat yourself to the all you can eat buffet dinner on the beach, starting at 7pm, which includes an open bar until 2am, for $135, or forgo feeding, and show up at 9pm and enjoy dancing under the stars. The $65 entry fee includes an open bar from 9pm to 2am.
Tickets can be purchased at the Marriott lobby bar, or Tortuga locations at North Sound, Greenery, and Governor’s Square.
Fire and Foam at Calico Jack’s
Join the only FREE party right on the beach, at Calico Jack’s. Dance in the sand, warm yourself around the bonfire and have some fun with the foam machine. DJs Beatdown and DJ Jonesian will be providing the tunes and there will be plenty of dancing, specials on Heineken, Patron and Taittinger Champagne and the best view of the fireworks all the way down SMB come the bewitching hour.
Then move onto O Bar for the after party.
NYE at Royal Palms
Prepare for a night to remember, courtesy of Royal Palms, Spin FM and Vibe. Four of the biggest DJs on the island – DJs Alexi, Brooklyn, Billy Corduroy and Jeffrey James will be on stage either at the patio bar or the Bacardi Lounge from 9pm to 2am. A special dinner menu is available, or show up later. It’s $25 general admission or $75 for an all you can drink extravaganza.
Black and Ice at Kaibo
Ring in the New Year among flickering tiki torches and swaying palm trees, with your toes in the sand. Tables will be set up on the beach for the perfect Caribbean dining experience. A three-course a la carte menu will be accompanied by a half bottle of Moet et Chandon Champagne. Moet Ice will also be available for purchase.
Ladies, don your LBDs and gentlemen, a tux and boardshorts will hit the right note. Dinner service will end in good time for a fireworks display at midnight, then it’s DJs, dancing on the beach and sky lanterns until late.
$130 per person, includes gratuities.
Live band and fireworks at the Wharf
Enjoy a la carte dining at the water’s edge at regular prices. There will be two sittings and Los Tropicanos with Burmon Scott will be playing from 9.30pm to 1.30am. Fireworks at midnight and party favours at no additional charge.
Stellar Style at The Ritz-Carlton
Celebrate in style at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman: dine under the stars on gastronomic delights from around the world, prepared by the team of outstanding chefs. Then enjoy live music from a Caribbean band and popular tunes played by the DJ as you dance 2012 away. A special fireworks display takes place at midnight.

Funky Jackets at Macabuca
Don your funkiest jacket and head out to North West Point for an island-style barbecue. For just $20 you can have your fill of ribs, chicken, burgers, salads and veggies. For $55 all your well drinks and most beers are also included.
DJ Da Funky Marsupial will be playing from 5pm til close and come midnight you’ll get a free glass of fizz and fireworks set off from the iron shore.
Music on the Waterfront at Cayman Cabana
A special dinner menu, wine and Champagne specials and live bands are all on the menu for the last night of 2012 at the Cayman Cabana. Tiki torches will be lit, the lounge areas will beckon and local musicians including Lammy Seymour, Jonathan Ebanks, Lonney Love from the Iz and Jeffrey Wilson will be performing live, out on the deck.
Beach party at the Westin
Enjoy a special New Year’s Eve menu at Casa Havana or head out to the beach from 7pm. There will be live food action stations set up, preparing food to order from 7.30 to 9.30pm and live music to carry you into the New Year. The $100 tickets include unlimited Marquis de la Tour sparkling wine and soft drinks.
Musical Crew at Grand Old House
Treat yourself to an exquisite three or five-course dinner (choice of two menus), or simply order a la carte at Grand Old House. The sensational Musical Crew dance band will be playing on the deck and the bar and lounge will be open to walk ins from 10.30pm.
