Arrests made in missing person case

Two women have been arrested in connection with the investigation relating to Hemerson Gonzalez, who went missing in December.

A police operation Wednesday resulted in the arrests of a 25-year-old woman from an address in Canyon Dawn Drive, Savannah. She was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply.

A second woman, 19, was also arrested in the Prospect area on suspicion of misleading the police and conspiring to pervert the course of justice.

Mr. Gonzalez, 31, went missing after leaving a friend’s house in Spotts-Newlands on 11 December.

There have been no confirmed sightings of Mr. Gonzalez since that Tuesday afternoon and he has not been in contact with friends or sought medical attention.

Royal Cayman Islands Police Detective Superintendent Marlon Bodden is urging anyone who has seen Mr. Gonzalez, or who is aware of his current whereabouts, to contact the police immediately to ensure that he receives urgent welfare and medical attention.
