Frederick’s strikes keeping Elite close

Women’s football is thriving in the Cayman Islands and Future Sports Club are the league leaders of the four teams.

Future have 10 points from five games although they lost 3-0 on Saturday to Elite Sports Club. Elite are second on eight points with Scholars International third on four points and Sunset have three.

Elite’s Shanelle Frederick leads the scorers with three goals ahead of Brittni Ebanks of Future on two.

The next round of league games are on Saturday, 2 February, at the West Bay’s Ed Bush stadium. Scholars face Future at 6pm and Sunset play Elite at 8pm.

In the men’s First Division, Sunset are still top with 16 points, two points ahead of second placed Roma who they drew 0-0 with on Saturday.

Cayman Brac are third on 10 points ahead of East End and Prospect (both 9) and Future (4).

Prospect drew with Cayman Brac 1-1 on Saturday and East End beat Future 3-0.

The next First Division fixtures are on 2 February too. Cayman Brac face East End at 3pm at home, Prospect play Sunset at the TE McField Annex at 6pm and Future take on Roma at Ed Bush at 8pm.
