Dr. Frank has his day in court

Former Cayman Islands government minister Dr. Frank McField appeared in Summary Court on 11 February to defend himself and a female companion against charges stemming from an after hours bust up that took place at the Caboose Restaurant off McField Lane in George Town.

McField is charged with obstructing police and two counts of resisting arrest. The female defendant in the matter, Silvana Eugenia Lewis, is charged with assault causing actual bodily harm, resisting arrest, resisting police and permitting the use of a premisses for the purpose of music and dancing out of hours. Acting on behalf of himself and forgoing legal counsel in the matter, McField has already heard testimony from one of the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service officers who was present.

Cross-examination of the witness was commenced by McField during the proceedings in Grand Cayman, but the matter was adjourned last week for testimony to be given in another matter in the same court room.

McField will return for the resumption of his trial on 13 March.
