The first Cayman Islands Property and Construction Conference will be held Thursday at the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort.
The event also serves as the official launch of the Cayman chapter of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
The all-day conference covers a range of topics related to valuing, construction and property management. Opening speakers include Cayman Islands Governor Duncan Taylor, Premier Juliana O’Connor-Connolly and Tom Pienaar, the organisation’s head of corporate affairs in the Americas.
The first session of the day is about public-private partnerships to deliver infrastructure projects. The second session is about the market outlook for Cayman.
Breakout sessions in the afternoon cover topics such as valuation standards, emerging technology, energy savings, stamp duty assessment, a construction case study on Willow House in Cricket Square, and strata law.
