Two charged in missing man case

A 31-year-old male and 29-year-old female have been charged with conspiracy to pervert or defeat the course of justice in relation to the disappearance of a Guyanese man in Cayman last December.

It is anticipated that both will appear in court on Tuesday, according to the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service.

The RCIPS arrested a total of three people on various allegations connected with the December disappearance of Hemerson Raymond Gonzalez.

Two women arrested in late December in connection with Mr. Gonzalez’s disappearance were both brought in for questioning. One of the women was arrested on suspicion of drugs-related offences, the other on suspicion of interfering with the police investigation. Neither has been charged.

Mr. Gonzalez, 31, went missing after leaving a friend’s home in Spotts-Newlands on 11 December. He has not been heard from since.
