PwC hammer Final Touch in majors

The Majors division saw a lopsided score before the Easter break.

PwC would crush Final Touch 12-2 in a 2013 Little League regular season match, put on by the Cayman Islands Little League Association. The contest took place at the Field of Dreams facility.

Solid hitting and aggressive base running was the basis for this victory with good pitching and defence closing down the Final Touch bats, only the Lansdell brothers (Shawn and Brad) got on base twice, with Brad scoring one of the Final Touch runs.

Final Touch did well to get out of the first inning conceding only two runs after three of the first six PwC batters were walked. A superb catch by pitcher Jeremy Walker turned a double play, as the catch was so smart the runner at first did not know it was a catch and failed to go back.

For PwC, Zachary Bodden twice reached third with big hits but he was also thrown out when Landon Parsons caught Justin Derrick and threw smartly to third. Although pitching well, Justin was unlucky with the bat as he fell prey to a very smart catch by Will Roberts holding Zachary on third.

Marcos Bertran scored Final Touch’s other run leading off the third but that was the end of their scoring as Jeremy and Justin closed down the FT batting.
