Two injured in violent break-in

Four intruders broke into a home in Frank Sound and kicked and beat the two men inside late Tuesday night before making off with cash and valuables, police said.

Bodden Town detectives are investigating the aggravated burglary at what police described as “a remote property” in Frank Sound. The two victims of the attack were treated in hospital for injuries sustained when they were kicked and punched by the burglars. They were later released from hospital.

About 11.45pm Tuesday, 16 April, the two men were inside their home off Frank Sound Road when they were confronted by the four intruders who had broken into the house through an insecure downstairs window.

“The suspects grabbed the men and punched and kicked them before making off with a quantity of cash, some watches and a camera,” a statement released by police Wednesday said.

The men raised the alarm with a neighbour and alerted police.

The suspects are described as being young, all between 5’6” and 5’9” in height and of slim build. They all wore dark clothing and had their faces covered.

Police are keen to speak with anyone who may have seen vehicle activity in the Frank Sound Road/Northside area between 11.30pm and 1.30am with four occupants on board.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Bodden Town CID on 9472220 or 6492220, the RCIPS tip-line on 949-777, or Crime Stoppers 800- 8477(TIPS).
