Five men who stood trial for the June 2012 robbery of a Cayman National Bank branch were found guilty on Thursday afternoon.
The men are David Tomassa, Rennie Cole, George Mignott, Ryan Edwards and Andre Burton.
A jury of five men and seven women returned unanimous verdicts.
The men were charged with stealing CI$502,436.17 from the CNB at Buckingham Square on West Bay Road and, at the time of so doing, putting persons in fear of being subjected to force.
They were also found guilty of possessing imitation firearms with intent to commit the robbery.
Edwards was found guilty on a separate charge of removing criminal property from the Cayman Islands. This charge referred to CI$37,205 in cash, being proceeds from the robbery.
Justice Alexander Henderson thanked the jurors for their participation in a matter that had taken five weeks. He said he knew it was an imposition on their time, but it was also entirely necessary for the administration of justice in the Cayman Islands. He excused them from further jury duty for the rest of the year.
After consulting with attorneys, the judge adjourned the matter until Friday morning, 10 May.
