Popeyes defeated Lindsay Fiduciary Services 9-4 in the latest round of AAA action in the 2013 Little League season.
Popeyes ace Mark “The Kraken” Chow was golden as he pitched his team past Lindsay Fiduciary to secure his third win of the season. Chow had good support on both offence and defence at the Field of Dreams facility.
Pablo Bertran, Albertini Holness, Dane Muspratt and Dominic Pouchie all had clutch hits for Popeyes. On defence, outfielder Brandon Buckley caught a fly ball in left field and short stop Pablo Bertran provided back-up on an errant pick off throw to third base and was able to chase down and tag the surprised runner.
Lindsay Fiduciary pitchers Ryan van der Bol and Omar Sanchez both had good stuff on the night, but threw away the ball three times on pick off moves to third, thereby allowing the runners to score. LFS second baseman Roberth Davis had a stellar night and showcased his skill on both sides of the ball, batting in two of the four LFS runs and turning a double play in the second inning.
Outfielder Bruce Hayles caught a flyball and catcher Christian Dube had a good night behind the plate where he recorded several outs.
At the field to cheer the boys on and watch his sponsored team was LFS director Alric Lindsay. After the game, the boys were pleased to be able to meet their sponsor and enjoy the refreshments that he provided.
