In celebration of World Athletics Day, the Cayman Islands Athletic Association is one of the 122 IAAF member federations that have entered the 2013 edition.
Now in its 18th year, the World Athletics Day, the sport’s annual worldwide festival of youth, is one of the busiest programmes of competitions in the athletics calendar.
The goal of the World Athletics Day is to firmly establish an important link between youth, sports and environmental conservation.
Cayman’s meet is on Thursday, 30 May, at 6pm and Friday, 31 May, again at 6pm at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex. Some of the best youngsters in track and field will compete in hope of reaching bigger events later in the season.
This meet will also be used particularly as a qualifier for the Central America and Caribbean Age Group Championships next month. The public is invited to come out and show their support.
