Never mind the politics, here’s the parties

Celebrate life with some events happening this weekend in the Cayman Islands.

Black Chiney returns fresh from its tour of Europe to Elements on Friday, 31 May at 10pm. Black Chiney, we’re told, is a Jamaican sound system based in Miami, Florida. It consists of four Chinese Jamaicans mixed with African descent: Supa Dups, Bobby Chin, Willy Chin and Walshy Killa. Black Chiney often travels around the world as a sound system for nightclubs, concerts and other party venues. The quartet also participates in sound clashes in their native Jamaica. Selecta Renegade’s also gonna be spinning them discs.

Indeed, the Renegade one is gonna have a busy night – he’s also on the bill of Ratio 3:1 at the Jacques Scott Warehouse (across from Weekender’s windowless prison cell of an office, FYI.) Also bringing the class are Stone Love, Slaughter Rich and Super C playing the best of dancehall, hip hop and top 40 music.

Tickets for this one are $10 general admission and $20 for VIP and you can buy them in advance from Welly’s Cool Spot, Blue Marlin, Winners Circle and J&M Electronics. So do that, y’know, if you want.
