Contestants sought for Miss George Town pageant

The Central Scranton Community Committee is seeking contestants to participate in a Miss George Town beauty pageant to be held Saturday, 17 August, at the Central Scranton Community Park.

Interested individuals must be between the ages of 15 and 30 and may be married or single. No experience is necessary.

The committee is hosting the event to raise money to assist with its involvement in the upcoming Pirates Week activities and also during George Town Heritage Day.

The pageant is open to all ages and the committee is encouraging the public to come out and have some fun.

Contestants will be judged in two categories – talent and formal wear – which will be followed by a fun question on stage.

The winner will lead the George Town float during Pirates Week. Last year’s winner Gabriella McField, 15, will crown the winning entrant.

Entry forms can be collected from committee director Pauleen McField by calling 939-5537.
