MLA Connolly inspires students

John Gray High School was the setting for a recent Young Caymanian Speakers Bureau’s event featuring Winston Connolly.

He’s addressed students on 13 June.

Mr. Connolly, a George Town Member of the Legislative Assembly and Education Councillor, spoke to the youngsters about his personal experiences and imparted a message about the importance of positive role models and being involved in community service.

The Young Caymanian Leader Foundation launched the Young Caymanian Speakers Bureau earlier this year to serve as a professional speakers bureau that amplifies the voices of the YCLA’s alumni.

Each member of the bureau has the opportunity to share personal stories about their accomplishment and what they view as positive experiences and influences that have shaped their lives and led them to be recognised as model citizens.

“The programme has got off to a very powerful start, with our first charter members, Garth Arch, Collin Anglin, Elroy Bryan, Casandra Morris and Richard Christian already having visited assemblies and tour groups at John Gray and Hope Academy to share their platforms as well as appearing in a weekly column in the Caymanian Compass and appearing on Daybreak and Radio Cayman,” said Nikki Callender of the YCLS Foundation
