Police confirm robbery and overnight attack

A man is recovering in hospital after being stabbed and robbed of his phone in Raleigh Quay, Royal Cayman Islands Police confirmed Wednesday.

According to police, around 1.30am the victim was opening the door to enter his condo in Raleigh Quay when he was suddenly confronted by two men who struck him on the head, grabbed his iPhone and stabbed him in the abdomen.

The suspects then ran off along Raleigh Quay towards the new bypass, police said.

The 34-year-old victim was taken to the Cayman Islands Hospital where he was in stable condition. .

One of the suspects in the attack is described as 5`8″ – 6` tall with a dark brown complexion. His hair was cut short and is said to be ‘close to his scalp’. No description was available for the second suspect, police said.
