A tourist alleged to have ran out on a $10,000 bill at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Grand Cayman escaped criminal charges after agreeing to pay the tab.
The 43-year-old American was arrested at the airport after apparently running out on his bill at the five-star hotel on West Bay Road.
Police confirmed they had arrested the man at Owen Roberts International Airport on Thursday afternoon on suspicion of making off without payment.
In a statement on Friday, a police spokeswoman confirmed, no charges would be brought.
“The hotel concerned has withdrawn the complaint after the man paid his bill.

The Director of Public Prosecutions office has informed the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service that there will be no charges in this case.”
