The Cayman Islands Cancer Society will host a free health fair on cancer awareness at the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort on Saturday.
The event, open to members of the public of all ages, kicks off at 8:30 a.m. and continues through 2 p.m.
“Conquering Cancer III” is designed to bring to the public new and innovative ways of screening, diagnosing and treating cancer, organizers said.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to have free health screenings for glucose level, blood pressure, BMI and cholesterol, as well as free healthy food samplings provided by local supermarkets.
There will be more than 30 exhibitors, including six visiting hospitals.
“The Cancer Society is always striving to make the most current information about cancer available to both medical professionals and the public. This event demonstrates our commitment to the community,” said Jennifer Weber, operations manager of the Cancer Society.
She explained that the health fair, which takes place every other year, is critical to the mission to provide education and awareness. “We encourage everyone to attend, especially those who have limited insurance or no insurance at this time,” she said.
