Charles “Killa” Whittaker is in hard training for his next show in the Cayman Islands, which will also showcase the talents of two local prospects.
Whittaker intends to put on at least four bouts at the King’s Sports Center on Oct. 26. The program will also feature Caymanians Peter “Lightning” Lewison and Dariel Ebanks.
Lewison is a five-fight unbeaten light-heavyweight prospect, and Ebanks is making his pro debut after a distinguished amateur career that saw him highly placed in the world rankings.
“We are trying to lock in a worthy opponent for the Killa, but since we are operating on a very small budget, we having difficulty getting someone to accept the fight,” said Whittaker’s Miami-based agent, Raul Alvarez.
“But we are confident that in the next day or so we will have someone.”
Whittaker will be in a 10-round junior- middleweight contest.
Lewison has won all his fights by knockout and sees no reason why he should not expect to again when he faces Orlando-based Mike “Money” Sawyer in a six-round contest.
Sawyer has announced that he is coming to knock Lewison out, so this could be a highly entertaining contest while it lasts.
Ebanks makes his pro debut against Miami veteran Elvis Martinez in a four-round super-middleweight contest.
