Holness is Red Bay star

Red Bay’s prolific little striker Alejandro Holness scored four times to secure victories for his school in their Under-9 and U-11 victories over Triple C over the weekend in Primary Football League matches.

At the T.E. McField Annex on Saturday, in the earlier Group A game, both teams played some exciting football with Triple C frustrating their opponents for much of the game. Triple Cs goalkeeper was excellent between the sticks, pulling off some important saves.

It took 32 minutes for Red Bay to get on the score sheet as Holness opened the scoring before Dequan Messam added his team’s second in the 35th minute. Holness scored his second in the 37th to complete the 3-0 score.

In the U-11 encounter, another two from Holness and an own goal sealed Triple Cs fate as Red Bay completed the 3-0 double.

Holness opened the scoring in the 10th minute and added his second in the 50th minute. Triple C’s David Harris was unfortunate to put the ball past his own goalkeeper after Red Bay’s Caleb Frederick fired a shot goal in the 23rd minute. Red Bay’s Tekwan Truman missed a penalty in the 39th minute.

In the day’s second set of games at the T.E. McField Annex, Group B’s Cayman International School defeated Truth For Youth, 2-0, thanks to goals from Toby Johns and Andrew Webber in the U-9 encounter.

In the U-11 game, Truth For Youth gained some revenge defeating their opponents 4-1 after finding themselves a goal down in the 20th minute when CIS’s Jonathan Rado blasted in.

A corner from Truth For Youth’s Gabriel Fisher found its way into the net following a deflection to tie the score in the 25th minute. Truth For Youth’s Rowan McLean scored in the 35th minute with his first touch of the game after coming on as a substitute and Oscar Hernandez and Elder Ebanks rounded off the scoring in the 42nd and 45th minutes.
