The Kiwanis Club of Grand Cayman held a brunch Oct. 6 at Blue Cilantro to install its new officers and board members for the 2013-2014 year. The event was hosted by the club’s distinguished past president, Paul de Freitas, and brought together Kiwanians and representatives from other local service organizations.
New officers inducted at the ceremony were President-elect Tonicia Williams, Vice President Daniella McGowan, Secretary Monique Bush, Treasurer Ruud van der Pluijm and directors Nicola Smith, Linda Chapman Key, Roger Bodden, Judy Ebanks and Sue Day.
Distinguished Past President Monique Bush was the recipient of the Kiwanian of the Year award for her tireless efforts in fundraising and her work in organizing the successful “Sunny Side Up – Breakfast for Dinner” charity event.
Daniella McGowan was voted as Kiwanian of the Month and a presentation was made to President Kadi Merren for Outstanding Achievements as President. Also honored were Kiwanians who had served for more than 25 years and those serving more than 10 years.
