Lemon Run is for kids cancer

There is another 5k run/walk to raise money for a good cause, this time for kids cancer research.

The Lemon Run 5k is on Sunday, Nov. 10, at Camana Bay, starting between 62 Forum Lane and 89 Nexus Way, at 7 a.m.

Team Cayman is a virtual team joining thousands of others running/walking to raise money for kids cancer research in the name of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.

ALSF emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott.

In 2000, Scott, then 4 years old, announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. She died aged 8.

Since that first stand, the foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of supporters across the world continuing her legacy of hope. To date, Scott’s Lemonade Stand Foundation has raised more than $60 million toward fulfilling the young girl’s dream of trying to find a cure, funding more than 300 research projects.

Registration is $25; pre-register or sign up on the day.
