The Cayman Islands Football Association has launched a new website so that football fans anywhere in the world can access the latest news and stats on local sport.
The new www.caymanfootball.com site will provide up-to-date information on local teams, leagues, players, schedules and key officials.
The launch of the website coincides with Cayman’s hosting the eight-team CONCACAF Women’s Under-20 Championships Jan. 9-19.
The U-20 women had a match against a Cayman select team on Saturday at the TE McField Annex in preparation for the tournament.
Players such as Shanelle Frederick, Brianna Hydes and Jetena Bodden will have a key part in Cayman’s success. Pro striker Shenel Gall played in the select team.
The website features content designed for the championship, including profiles, schedules and the group designation. Each week, CIFA posts updated information on all its competitions, including the Premier League to the Grassroots development initiative.
General Secretary Bruce Blake is urging clubs to participate in the content gathering and sharing process.
“The website is a medium of communicating and sharing information,” Blake said. “I encourage our clubs to submit information to post on the website so we can share our various perspectives of the sport. The ultimate goal of the website is to act as a one-stop shop for all things football in the Cayman Islands.”
CIFA partners with the regional website CONCACAF.com with relevant information.
