Tourist influx to close George Town road

Nearly 19,000 cruise ship tourists will arrive in Grand Cayman on Boxing Day.

The expected influx of 18,826 tourists from six ships scheduled to moor off George Town Thursday has led the Ministry of District Administration, Tourism and Transport to announce the closure of a section of Harbour Drive for the day.

Harbour Drive, from Fort Street to Boilers Road, will be closed from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Boxing Day “due to the high number of cruise passengers that will be in the area,” a public service announcement released Tuesday by the ministry said.
