Local auto enthusiasts can shift their excitement into gear.
Weather permitting, the Cayman Islands International Car Show, presented by Tony’s Toys, is taking place Saturday, Jan. 25, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Festival Green in Camana Bay. Even though intermittent weather postponed the spectacle, organizers remain confident that at least 100 European, American and Japanese cars, motorcycles and trucks will be on display.
Exhibitors will be placed in 10 categories: Truck/Jeep, Motorcycle-Sport, Motorcycle-Cruiser, American Muscle, Race Car, Classic, Custom, Sport Compact-Stock, Sport Compact-Modified and Luxury (encompassing European and GT models of cars and SUVs). An overall Best In Show award will be decided by the public.
Spectators can also enjoy a kids zone, heels and wheels area for women, a VIP area and a food court. Various automotive-related companies, including banks and insurance companies and dealers, will be present. Tickets are $10 and admission is free for kids ages 12 and under.
